Written by Nick Metallinos    Monday, 06 May 2013 18:43    PDF Print E-mail
P.J. Carlisemo says only an NBA title would have saved his job this season, the former Nets coach was relieved of his duties by Brooklyn GM Billy King on Sunday morning. Carlisemo had taken over from Avery Johnson who was fired in december and led the team to a 35-19 record and the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference while he was in charge, but he failed to get the Nets past a hobbled Chicago team in the first-round.

Carlisemo says he was resigned to the fact that he would not return next season.

"I think short of winning a championship, it wouldn't have made any difference. I mean, Billy (King) was pretty candid," Carlesimo said during an interview on The Dan Patrick Show on Monday, a day after the general manager...

Last night, Shumpert repaid the favor. He celebrated a three-pointer in the closing seconds of the third term by mimicking Terry’s “Jet” wingspan move as he ran down the...

The Nets and Bulls series is headed to a decisive Game 7 at Barclays Center on Saturday night, but Lil' Nathan still tried his best to get the depleted Chicago team over the hump (pardon the pun) tonight.

Nate Robinson was battling flu-like symptoms, but still managed to notch 18 points (7/15 from the field) in 42-minutes of court time. Despite being seen throwing up in the Bulls huddles during timeouts, Robinson summoned enough energy to disrespect Kris Humphries worse than Kanye West...
