Derrick Rose participated in 5-on-5 drills for the first time this season with hs Bulls teammates yesterday afternoon, leading to many anticipating his return to action sooner than later. Rose had been cleared to resume full-contact practice for a number of weeks now but the team had not had an opportunity to have a full-blown scrimmage until just after the All-Star break.

Just last week Rose said he was willing to sit out the season if his knee wasn't able to withstand the rigors of game play, but this new development has many wondering if Rose could return soon. Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau would not get carried away when he spoke to the media.

"He did what everyone else did," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said of Rose on Monday. "Just a normal practice. He's doing what he should be doing, he's focused on his rehab, doing more and more. We just have to be patient. When he's ready, he'll go."
