Kevin Garnett overcame a slow start to become just the 16th man in NBA history to reach the 25,000 career point plateau. Garnett picked up two quick fouls early in the first quarter, forcing Doc Rivers to sit Garnett for the remainder of the term but he came out in the second energized and quickly notched the 6-points he needed to reach the milestone. He reached 25,000 points with a typical turnaround fadeaway with 8:08 to play in the first half. As is the norm in Boston, the announcement was not made until a timeout was called a few minutes later and Garnett was given a standing ovation by the TD Garden faithful. When he passed Patrick Ewing for 16th place on the all-time scoring list last month Garnett had this to say. "I guess when you've been in the league as long as I've been in it you want to accomplish some things," Garnett said. "Nothing more, nothing special in it. I guess some day it'll mean something to me. But at this point, it's relative. I'm sorry to be kind of, you know ... I'm not into the individual stuff, but obviously I've accomplished some things in this league, so that's a good thing."
