Kevin Durant has not been nice this season, and the Oklahoma City star says that is the reason why he's been getting an unsually high (for him) number of technicals; he just can't keep his mouth quiet. Durant says he needs to contain what he says to the referees in order to avoid opposition teams getting the chance for free points. Durant is tied for the most technicals in the league with Carmelo Anthony, DeMarcus Cousins, Blake Griffin, Kobe Bryant and Matt Barnes.
“I just got to shut up,” Durant said after picking up his ninth this season Monday night. “I'm racking ‘em up, man. Sometimes I get too excited and voice my opinion when I shouldn't. I just got to shut up and play the game.” Durant commented on his latest tech, claiming he shouldn't have received it. “I shouldn't have got a tech,” Durant said. “I just went up and talked to him and he got me one. But that goes back to the ones I've gotten before. I guess they watch and they're looking for them now. I just got to shut up and play my game and just fight through it.”
