As had been expected, Allen Iverson has turned down the Dallas Mavericks offer to join their D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends. Iverson took to Twitter earlier today saying that. although he appreciated being considered for the team, he would not be joining the Legends. Iverson's dream is still to finish his career in the NBA, but it seems he prefers to get a call-up directly from a team rather than work his way up from the lower league - which might not even guarantee him a spot on an NBA roster. Iverson last played in the NBA during the 2009-10 season, appearing in 28 games in short stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and 76ers. He has turned down lucrative offers overseas in the hope of returning to the NBA.
