Rasheed Wallace has been out since December 15th, and the Knicks are now beginning to worry when - or if - the 7-footer will be able to return. Wallace initial injury was described as a sore left foot but was later diagnosed as having a stress reaction, he has not been cleared to run yet and Mike Woodson admitted that the Knicks had hoped he would have been cleared to do so at this stage. "He'll be back -- but when, I don't know," Woodson said. "We're gradually trying to get him back where he can run again so he can get back in a uniform. But when, we don't know when yet." Wallace's situation will have to be dealt with in one way or another. Kenyon Martin is still available to be signed as a free agent and there is legitimate interest from New York, the decision they'll have to make is; if Wallace can't prove that he'll be back this season, do they cut him from the roster to make way for Martin? In 20 appearances for the Knicks Wallace is averaging 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14.6 minutes.
