Deron Williams: I Don't Deserve To Be An All-Star

Despite his - and thus, the team's - recent good form, Deron Williams doesn't feel like he's done enough this season to warrant a berth at next month's All-Star game in Houston. Williams started the season poorly and says there is other more deserving players that should play for the Eastern squad.

“No,” Williams said bluntly when asked if he was having an All-Star season. When asked to elaborate, he simply said, “I just think there’s people playing better than me.”

Williams is averaging his lowest totals since his second year in the league, but his numbers have spiked during the current seven-game win streak that Brooklyn are on. Williams is averaging 19.7 points, 8.1 assists in that span, up from 16.9 points and 7.6 assists prior to that.
