This incarnation of the Lakers is most certainly not the championship Los Angeles teams of 2009 and 2010 - and their style of play has many in Hollywood concerned that a team many predicted would find itself in the Finals, may not even get to see any basketball action beyond the first weeks of April. The Lakers squared off against the defending Western Conference champs, Oklahoma City, last night at Staples Center and the beating they took from the younger, more athletic, Thunder team was enough for long-time Laker fan Jack Nicholson to wave the white flag and make his exit with 7:31 left in the final term.
Los Angeles lost the game, 116-101. The Lakers are now 15-21 on the season, and have lost six in a row, the longest such streak since the season before they acquired Pau Gasol.
