As soon as it became public that the Memphis Grizzlies were shopping forward Rudy Gay around the league you knew that there would most certainly be teams interested in his services. Well, Boston's point guard Rajon Rondo - one of Gay's closest friends in the NBA - has been doing what he can to get the Grizzlies forward to Beantown. Gay said Rondo speaks to him constantly telling him how much he's needed in Boston. “It’s hard to talk to [Rondo] because he is always saying, ‘We need you over here. We need you over here,’ ” Gay said. “So it’s not easy talking to him. But he’s being a friend, just telling me about keeping everything together and he makes you feel like you are still valuable.” Gay is being shopped, and Phoenix remain the team most talked about as a possible destination. If Memphis get rid of Gay by the trade deadline they will save just over $37-million which is owed to him over the next two seasons.
