J.R. Smith is playing with the poise and nous of a seasoned veteran this season, less erratic shots, better emphasis on defense - and overall the Knicks sixth man is a viable contender for an All-Star berth as well. Don't get that confused and think that the 27-year old Smith can no longer fly through the air like he used to on a more regular basis. Last night against the Spurs Smith reminded the MSG crowd just how much he can drop jaws when he wants to. After the game when teammate Carmelo Anthony was asked by a reporter what he thought of Smith's insane alley-oop finish, he had this to say: "You see us jump off the bench? That's self explanatory. All you gotta do is look at that." Touche, Carmelo. Touche.
