Shaquille O'Neal will finally get some closure with the Los Angeles Lakers on April 2 when the franchise hangs his No. 34 jersey in the rafters of Staples Center. O'Neal - who won three NBA rings and three Finals MVP's with the Lakers - left in acrimonious circumstances when he was traded to Miami in 2004 leaving many to speculate whether Dr Jerry Buss (Lakers owner) would even consider retiring the number.

A presentation ceremony will be made for O'Neal on the 2nd when the Dallas Mavericks come into town.

Also having his number retired will be Jamaal Wilkes, he'll see his No. 52 rise up and join other Lakers legends on December 28.

O'Neal retired last November having played for the Orlando Magic, L.A., Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland and Boston.
