Kobe Bryant's claim a couple of weeks ago that the 2012 version of Team USA would beat the iconic 1992 Dream Team, initiated much debate worldwide amongst basketball fans (even President Barack Obama chimed in). Now the Lakers superstar, in London for the Olympic Games, has clarified his statement saying although the '92 squad is a better team, he still believes he and his teammates would beat them at least once if they were to square off.

"I didn’t say we were a better team," Bryant said Friday amid a mob of reporters at an introductory Olympic news conference. "But if you think we can’t beat that team one time? Like I’m going to say no, that we’d never beat them."

Bryant agreed with the President that the '92 team was legendary.

"He’s right. They are a better team," Bryant said. "The question was ’Can we beat them?’ Yes we can. Of course we can. We like where we are but we’re not going to compare ourselves to them because those guys are living legends."
