JaVale McGee has re-upped with the Denver Nuggets for $44 million over the next four-years. The center often had his name in the news for the many blunders he made during games but proved to the Denver organization that he was worth taking a gamble on long-term with his play late in the season, and during the playoffs. McGee averaged 10.3 points per game and 5.8 rebounds since coming over from the Washington Wizards in a trade at the deadline.

Head coach George Karl raved about the young center's potential during the Nuggets playoff run.

"I don't think I've ever coached a guy like this," said Karl, who got his first NBA head coaching job in 1984. "He has the kind of moves of a 6-6 player. The guy he kind of reminds me of a little bit is (1970s star) Connie Hawkins. There's this long, unfolding one-handed stuff. He's got a long way to go to become Connie Hawkins."

McGee was a restricted free agent and had a number of teams interested in offering him a deal.
