Chris Wilcox has recovered from surgery to correct an enlarged aorta last February - he was cleared to resume basketball activities last week - and the burly big man is making a return to the Boston Celtics, agreeing to a one-year deal for the veterans minimum. Wilcox says he should be ready for full basketball action by the time pre-season camp begins in Turkey during September for Boston. “The doctors say I’m cleared for everything,” said Wilcox. “I’m working out, running, playing 5-on-5. I’m doing everything. I just can’t do any heavy lifting just yet. I’m just trying to get healthy right now, right now I’m just trying to get my wind back.” Wilcox appeared in 28-games for the C's before being diagnosed with the heart condition, he averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in those games. |
