Steve Novak is returning to the Knicks next season after agreeing to a four-year, $15 million deal. Novak had maintained throughout the summer that his number one priority was to return to the Knicks, his agent confirmed the deal earlier today. "As I've said a million times, I would just love to be back," he told ESPN New York on July 1. "There's no question that coming back would be awesome." The deal was expected after an independent arbitrator ruled that Novak, who was waived by the Spurs before last season, could retain his early-Bird rights, which allowed the Knicks to exceed the salary cap in order to keep the sharpshooter. Novak led the NBA in three-point percentage last season with a .472% clip from distance. The Knicks will now look to re-sign J.R. Smith and Jared Jeffries from last year's roster, and hope to add free agent Marcus Camby back to the fold as well. |
