Just quietly the New Orleans Hornets are assembling themselves a nice little roster, aided of course by number one overall draft pick Anthony Davis, but the franchise has been active in trade talks and appear on the verge of acquiring Orlando's Ryan Anderson.

The two teams have agreed on a sign-and-trade deal in which the Hornets receive the winner of the 2011-12 Most Improved Player award and Orlando gets back New Orleans center, Gustavo Ayon. Anderson is a restricted free agent but the Magic were not prepared to match the reported four-year, $34-36 million deal that he is set to sign with New Orleans.

The Hornets will also likely match the four-year, $60 million deal offered to shooting guard Eric Gordon by the Phoenix Suns, which would make this a nice little triumverate for the team moving forward.
