Brandon Bass will opt out of his Boston deal and enter free agency according to his agent, but the forward's intention is to remain with the Celtics for next season and beyond. Bass, who came to Beantown in the deal that sent Glen 'Big Baby' Davis to Orlando, was a key figure in helping the franchise reach the Conference Finals. The player's agent told media that Bass was seeking a long-term deal with the Celtics. "Oh absolutely [the Celtics are Bass's first choice]," his agent Tony Dutt told CSNNE's A. Sherrod Blakely. "Without question, he would love to go back. ... We'll see this summer. All indications I've been given is that the interest in getting something done goes both ways, so we'll see. But Boston is definitely where Brandon wants to be." Bass' final year of his deal was worth $4.25 million. In his first season with the Celtics he averaged 12.5 points per game and 6.2 rebounds for the Celtics last season, both career highs. |
