Ray Allen is set to udergo surgery to remove the bone spurs from both his ankles that hampered his performance in during the Celtics deep playoff run. Veteran Allen had been battling the bone spurs all season but was clearly affected during the playoffs, he was unable to plant and rise on his shots like he normally does, so much so that even his free-throw shooting percentage was reduced to a career low .726%.

After Boston's Game 7 loss to the Heat Allen told reporters that surgery was his main priority.

“That’s my first priority, just going into surgery sometime,” he said Saturday night. “If I (could) do it tomorrow, I would do it tomorrow. That’s probably my main concern right now, is taking care of that. My body feels good. That’s been my only issue. After that, it’s hard to say.

“There’s still a lot of basketball left in my legs."

Allen is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday morning.
