As Australians we support our fellow countrymen. We'll support Aussie's in sports we've never even heard of just because. When an athlete reaches a particular level in their career in a global sport such as basketball, the whole nation becomes infatuated with their every move. Andrew Bogut is at that level right now. Prior to his arm injury in April of 2010 (we won't re-hash the gory details again, google it if you haven't seen it) Bogut was on track to become Australia's first ever NBA All-Star. That's how high a level the kid from Endeavour Hills was playing at.
Coming back from an injury of that nature is hard even for a professional athlete with all the best team doctors at his disposal but Bogut... |

It was an early morning tweet from Corey Williams ("Yo, wake yo a$$ up!") that allowed me the privilege of attending the filming of the third annual Converse ‘Band of Ballers’ for MTV2 on Monday. The 3-on-3 event has become an annual fixture, fusing both hip-hop and basketball, athletes and rappers, only a select few were in attendance for the filming.

Don't get it twisted, before he was an NBL league MVP, Corey 'Homicide' Williams earned the moniker given to him by 'murdering' the opposition on New York City's famed blacktops. You need a reputation to play these games and 'Homicide' went about tearing all the major summer league's up, Hoops In The Sun, Dyckman and of course, the famed EBC tournament at Rucker Park where he also earned MVP honors.
