It's nearing that time of year again for our northern friends, as the NBA begins to wind down hoops fiends in the Mecca of basketball turn their attention to basketball action of the blacktop variety. The Hoops In The Sun tournament, located in the Orchard Beach section of the Bronx in New York, has established itself as one of the city's premier outdoor competitions over the past 13 years since its inception. Run by brothers Randy and Joe Cruz, the competition has played host to all of New York's finest ballers, along with various NBA stars along the way. Most notably for Australian hoops fans, 2010 NBL MVP Corey 'Homicide' Williams team are the defending champions and will be out to maintain their status as the H.I.T.S. champs. Williams finished with 18 points in last year's Final as his team, the Bingo All-Stars defeated R2K, 117-102. Here's a preview of what's in store at the Bronx tournament in 2012.
